New Generation Washcloth

Dscn1623

Bibulousness is a great word.  "Bibulous" means given to drink, or absorbent .  I don't know why it isn't used more!

I am very glad there is no plasm in this.

And I don't mind that it is "about 30 x 30 cm" because I don't really need accuracy from my washcloths.

Marzipan Moneymaker

Dscn1646
Yes, this is a man made out of marzipan, with a coin coming out of (going into?) his butt.

He is wearing a tiny hat.

What more do you really need to know?

As far as I can gather, this is some kind of Old World prosperity/New Year's thing.

I'm classifying this as Engrish, even though it has no writing... Because, obviously, something is being communicated here that I'm just not understanding.  Or I hope I'm not understanding.

Ho Kila

Dscn1292

So, why is this place named Ho-Kila?  Well, it isn't really.

The sign on the front of the building had a longer name, like Hong Kong Ki-something-something.  I guess this may be the equivalent of saying "Micky D's" instead of McDonalds?  We had the most disgusting bubble tea in the world here. Seriously.  Like salty snot balls lurking at the bottom of a glass of old milk.

But here's the thing.

We COULD NOT stop eating this stuff.  Was it the adorably fat hot-pink straw, or the promiscuous-looking cartoon characters on the lid?  I don't know.  I think it was mostly because we were trying to figure out, What the heck is this made of?  Is this the way all bubble tea is; If so, why do people like this stuff so much??
Dscn1295

However, I think that "Sloby Joe" is an excellent way to describe a sloppy joe.  It makes just about as much sense, so why not.

Good Luck Card

Dscn1650

Wow.  Let's talk about this card.

No, not the fact that it is a combination good luck/thank you card.  No, not that it says:

Dscn1651

...Oh, and not the fact that it has lace, glitter, flowers, AND peek-a-boo letters.

What I really want to know, is... What is this for?:
Dscn1652

It's a cotton ball and some dead (fake?) flowers in a cellophane bag!  It doesn't smell like anything; It's not potpourri.  It has a loop for hanging up, yet is firmly glued to the card.

I am baffled.

Bear Pleasurable

Dscn1609
Hooray, it's Engrish week at Found on the Ground!

I've been on a little auto-post vacation, but I'm currently taking new photographs of items that have actually been found on the ground.  They'll be ready next week.

In the meantime, enjoy this adorable lunchbox! It comes with lots of mini containers inside, and also with Pretty Bear Magic.

Teriyaki Boy

Dscn1445

Oh Teriyaki Boy, we hardly knew ye.  It's not at 1900 Market anymore, unfortunately.

The first time I went there, I had some delicious tamago egg sushi, which I ordered from a blackboard behind the counter.  I ordered some tamago to go, and asked for a few menus to take with me.

I paged through one of them while waiting for my order.

As I turned to go, the woman behind the counter said, "Oh no, wait! That menu is not right!" -and she handed me some "corrected" menus.

What corrections were made?  There was a black-and-white list stapled to the front of the new menus, explaining that there was a different lunch special every day.  That's all.

The Diarrhea Point

I've heard good things about the reflexology massage center that sports this sign... But I don't want to know anything more about "the diarrhea point".

I guess I should be thankful there's no little illustration explaining it.
