Nice find, Vanessa!

Ah, brings back memories, doesn't it... Looks like something we'd wear to Babci's house for Christmas eve!

Thug Matrimony

Image032

This just in from the NYC subway:

Stranger in the Background reports that Harlequin boods books just don't cut it anymore.  There's a new romance novel in town:

"ah, Thug Matrimony. Such a classic."

Thanks, SITB!

Letter in the Ice

Letter_in_ice3_2

Today's find comes from Vermont:

"Thanks so much for the lovely thank you note dated January 11.  It spent the months of January and February embedded in the ice in our driveway. Luckily we had a slight warming in temp or we would have found it in June!

A great item for the "found on the ground" website!!!"

I think so, too.  Thanks, Aunt Joanne!

File141

Thanks to Stranger in the Background for a STUPENDOUS find.  Here's the story:

"I found the inspirational/crazy Rolodex notes abandoned on a table at
the restaurant I work at after a particularly busy lunch shift. The
customer who had been sitting there was a middle aged businessman who
had come in a few times before and always been very brusque, bordering
on rude, when ordering. With him was a younger woman who was also
dressed in lower Manhattan financial finery. They were clearly there to discuss Business.

I don't know what these are about, but they were
very neatly held together with a paper clip and there seems to have
been some time put into assembling them.

Strangely, I like the Business man a little more now that I know he
might be a little off his rocker."

Radioactive Cat Butt

Cat_1

Vanessa writes:

"My house, VA, 11/3/06. It showed up on our front stoop on a night where it was freezing out, so we took it in for the night. I never thought I would ever want any cat, but this one loved me."

Very cute cat.  But clearly it's been sitting in plutonium, and that can really ruin a carpet.

Dinnerware for Amoebas

Present

It would be fun to confuse people by serving cucumber slices on these plates.

Vanessa Says:

" I'd say the person who left it had been gone over an hour at least since it had been quite a while since the time we arrived and the time we found it, or I should say, shown it, by the guy picking up empty glasses/bottles, so I didn't hesitate to take it. It was practically under a chair by the wall, and it was still unwrapped in a little brown paper gift bag. What a cool gift, too! It's a set of four plates, about 4" x 4" each. There's no purple in it, that's just reflection from my light."

Just enjoy the pumpkin.  Yes, in December.

Then, look for Christmas FOTGs sometime around... March.
