Found on the Ground

Life is a treasure hunt.

Magnetic Poetry: "waste"

Dscn2484

Found this little magnet on the kitchen floor when I moved in.

Wish I'd photographed the other magnet I found, which said, "angel".

Also found:
- 2 cat toys
- 1 Eagles Football beer glass
- 1 miraculous medal of the Virgin Mary
- 1 mini hand vac
- 1 plastic mixing spoon

It's weird what people leave behind.

At the last place I moved into, I found a teapot, coffee filters, and a can of black olives.

Found 10/06, East Falls

Ask Me About Nutrition

Dscn2411

Dscn2380

"When 5 pm arrived, Nick stormed out of the vitamin store, not even staying to help his coworkers re-alphabetize the herbal supplements.

Three different hooligans had come into the store that day- THREE!-, all pretending to be interested in Customized Nutrition, but then bursting into laughter when Nick explained how vitamins, herbs and protein shakes could improve their lives.

And he had fallen for it, like he always did.  He felt like such a fool!  Didn't anyone care about Personalized Nutrition anymore?  Maybe all those years of school weren't worth it after all...

Nick hadn't expected the life of a Customized Nutrition Consultant to be a cake walk, but still, today had been the absolute limit.  Damn nutrition consultant school, muttered Nick, and damn this stupid pin!

Nick ripped the hated badge off his white lab coat (it had an ultra-neato magnetic clasp, so it was easy to remove), and flung it to the curb.

Tears of righteous indignation welled up.  There, at 19th & Market, he made a solemn vow:  No more would he toil in obscurity at the Vitamin Shoppe, getting made fun of by Hot Topic sales clerks every day.  Nick was going to follow his dreams.   He'd go back to school: Yes, he'd go into business on his own!  Dr. Nick, Customized Nutrition Specialist!

He liked the sound of that."

I think this is my Halloween costume.  Just need a white lab coat and some vitamin bottles!

Republicans Magnet

Republicans

It seems to be guest finder week here at Found on the Ground!

We had this find about Hillary Clinton a while back, so in the spirit of bi-partisanship, here is a fabulous Republican-related find from Vanessa K.!

Not only is it funny, it is also a magnet.  That's right, the first magnetic item to be featured on foundontheground.com!  If robots have a category, then magnets can, too.

Vanessa says:

"I passed someone's moving junk pile and thought there must be something good in there that you would like, but I wasn't about to go shuffling through it, because that's what homeless people do."

[...Um... Or something Found on the Ground might do.]

"...But to my great satisfaction, I found this on the outskirts."

Found 7/31/06, New Hampshire Ave, NW bet. K & L (Washington, DC)
