Radioactive Cat Butt

Cat_1

Vanessa writes:

"My house, VA, 11/3/06. It showed up on our front stoop on a night where it was freezing out, so we took it in for the night. I never thought I would ever want any cat, but this one loved me."

Very cute cat.  But clearly it's been sitting in plutonium, and that can really ruin a carpet.

Rocks Melted Together

Wow, Skaneateles, NY is a neat and clean place!  I didn't find anything on the ground while I was up there.

Then again, I was on vacation, so I wasn't looking too hard.

I found this awesome rock in the shallows of Lake Skaneateles, while looking for flat rocks to skip.

Is it one big rock that's been carved up by a glacier, or is it 4 smaller rocks melded together in ancient sediment or lava?

You decide!

I think it looks like one of those Easter Island heads.  Or one of those cheap desk-top decorative waterfalls you can buy at the Rite Aid.

Baby Kittehs & Mushrooms

Dscn2061

Dscn2045

A few sights along the way to a hideous apartment I saw last month, when we were pretty desperate for a place to move. (This was the same day I found the pink Hummer, FBI application, and Healthy Cooking for One.  What a day!)

It had rained recently, and there were tons of mushrooms on the ground.

The kittens were very sleepy.  They were barely interested in me and my camera.  They were rescues available for adoption, chilling out in the window of a ritzy pet store near the Mug Shots coffee house.  I thought it was a little sad that the fit in with the area's theme of "behind bars", but I'm sure they found good homes.

A Package from Vermont!

Dscn2325

I couldn't make it to Vermont, so my family sent some of Vermont to me!

Aren't these just beautiful?  And they smell so autumn-y, too!

Thanks, Claire and Joanne!

Butterfly

Dscn1271

At my previous job, I walked out of work one day and found this little guy hanging out on the sidewalk.  I moved him to the lawn, but not before a nice lady from another office took this picture.

I believe this to be a female easter tiger swallowtail butterfly; dark form.

Hmm... I may have to add a "Butterflies" category!
